Scott Clark Sets Up ECU at ETET’s Development & Pilot Production Facility in Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley, February 26, 2012 – Under the direction of CTO Ron Huch, Application Manager Steve Vergano and Engine Development Manager Robert Cancilla embraced expert Scott Clark’s assistance in setting up the ECU units for the Smart Power EVT-90 Engine at ETET’s U.S. facility in Silicon Valley.

Scott is respected in the industry with his vast knowledge of ECU tuning for a variety of high performance engine projects. These range from top speed runs on the Bonneville Salt Flats to building competition engines that compete for efficiency prizes. Scott is also instrumental in the refinement of the EVT 90’s design and enhanced performance.

Scott has developed a new ECU system for the ETET engines that are being prepared for the global market, especially China as well as many countries in Asia. The new system enables the computer to individually control and optimize each cylinder. This results in improved performance, emissions, fuel consumption, and reliability.

Additionally, the new ECU system enables more in depth analysis of each component’s performance under varying load conditions. Such components include the camshafts, valve train, manifold, exhaust pipes, catalytic converters, and all the various sensors. This enhanced analytical data is a huge advantage for ETET in leading the industry with real time improvements.

Scott worked closely with ETET’s application manager, Steve Vergano, on the new ECU system as well as the software to control and program the ECU. Program changes will be done remotely with Scott moving forward.

Scott and Steve will continue collaboration on a variety of test simulations using Dynomation 5, a sophisticated design software. This powerful software is capable of optimizing and designing manifold configurations, as well as eliminating the need for actual dyno testing and design experimentation – a huge time and monetary savings.

Scott’s extensive background includes the development of a commercial “standalone” engine management system based on Open Source technology, as well as with engine development testing equipment including dynamometers (engine and chassis), flow test benches, and multi-gas analysis.
